Chupacabra Paletas

Handmade Michoacan-style paletas with fresh ingredients and family recipes.

About our name

The Chupacabra is a mythical creature that has been rumored to eat farmer's goats in many parts of Latin America. It literally translates to "goat sucker”. That's why we created the G.O.A.T Paleta A.K.A the greatest popsicle of all time. It's a play on words, hence why in our logo you can see the Chupacabra eating the G.O.A.T popsicle. We specialize in manufacturing artisan ice cream popsicles in the Mile High City of Denver, CO.

Local Ingredients

We use fresh fruit, local dairy, and pure cane sugar for quality.

About Us

The O.G story goes back in history to a little town named Tocumbo in Michoacán, Mexico. Legend states that back in the 1940’s, families from this region were the pioneers of creating these frozen delicious treats we know as Michoacan style paletas. Our brand is focused on keeping this tradition alive by using similar ingredients and methods in our production process.

This is what separates us from the others and what motivates us to keep pumping out quality. In 2015, my father became inspired by these same traditions and decided to open up his own ice cream shop called "La Flor Michoacana" (The Flower of Michoacan) in my hometown of Charlottesville, VA. Chupacabra was born 6 years later here in Colorado; inspired by my father's recipes and a drive for innovation while keeping the tradition alive.

We are a family run business with my mother being in charge of production and my brother being a distributor of ours. I like to admit we didn’t choose ice cream but ice cream chose us.

We are on a mission to offer a more premium version of a paleta that anyone can grab and enjoy. Unlike those knockoff brands, we won't cut corners when it comes delivering the quality that you deserve.

At Chupacabra, we brought back the ART in the word artisan. Our product isn't just photogenic; it's a mouthful sensation. We wouldn't label ourselves the G.O.A.T if we were lying. We are currently offering our paletas in over 100 locations in Colorado and participate in many public and private events and festivals.

Our mission
Proud of our brand

As mentioned above, we hand make a superior version of a Mexican paleta. How?, because we focus on using creamy dairy that your taste buds savor, fresh fruit and imported pulps that stand out in every bite, as well as farmer owned real Colorado sugar.

Don’t worry; for those of you that aren’t fond of the cow, we offer a couple of H20 based vegan options as well.

A vibrant plate filled with nachos topped with beans, diced vegetables, and drizzled with a red sauce. A scoop of ice cream with chocolate and coconut is placed on top, adorned with a small paper umbrella and a Mexican flag. A bottle of pink Jarritos soda stands in the background beside some tortilla chips.

Several colorful popsicles arranged on a light speckled surface. Each popsicle is uniquely shaped and includes colors such as pink, yellow, and orange. Some of the popsicles have visible fruit chunks embedded inside.
